Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Bakery Sales Director to lead our sales team and drive the growth of our bakery business. As the Bakery Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and fostering strong relationships with clients. Your primary goal will be to achieve sales targets, increase market share, and maximize profitability for the bakery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and implement sales strategies: Create comprehensive sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence. Identify key opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.

2. Manage sales team: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals, including sales representatives and account managers. Provide guidance, training, and support to help them achieve their targets and deliver exceptional customer service.

3. Key account management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and major customers. Collaborate with the sales team to develop account-specific strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction.

4. Sales forecasting and budgeting: Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to forecast future sales and set achievable targets. Develop annual sales budgets and closely monitor performance against targets.

5. Market research and competitor analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, product innovations, and emerging trends in the bakery industry.

6. New business development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share. Build strategic partnerships, attend industry events, and network to generate leads and secure new contracts.

7. Sales reporting and analysis: Generate regular sales reports, including key performance indicators, sales forecasts, and market analysis. Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement, optimize sales strategies, and make informed business decisions.

8. Collaboration with other departments: Collaborate closely with the production, marketing, and finance teams to ensure seamless operations, efficient order fulfillment, and effective marketing campaigns aligned with sales objectives.

9. Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. Foster long-term partnerships to enhance customer loyalty and drive repeat business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a sales director or similar role in the bakery industry, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the bakery industry, including market trends, products, and customer preferences.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and negotiate contracts.
  • Analytical mindset, with proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and business profitability.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
